Flitwick Dolphins Annual General Meeting – June 2010

Flitwick Dolphins Swimming Club's Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 20 June 2010 at 7:00pm in the Function Room at Flitwick Leisure Centre. All members and parents are invited. The meeting will include a question and answer session.

The main purpose of the AGM is to elect officers and committee members for the following year. The Club is run by volunteers and it is vital that sufficient people come forward. If you would like to discover more about how the Club works and where help is needed, please speak to any committee member.

We also need to amend the constitution. Please review the revised constitution. The current constitution is available here..

The club welcomes nominations for the 2010/2011 FDSC committee. If there is more than one nomination for a position, then a vote will take place during the AGM. Please note that only those 18 years and over can be members of the committee. You do not have to be a member of the club to be nominated (although if elected you must become a member), but your proposer and seconder must be members and aged 16 years or over. All swimmers and current committee members are members, along with anyone who helps out on poolside etc (basically if you have an ASA number you are a member!). If you want to find out more about the FDSC committee please speak to any committee member.

There will be several Committee positions becoming vacant so please watch the Noticeboard and sign up if you would be interested in joining. The Club cannot function without a Committee and we always have too many jobs for too few people! The Club is run by volunteers and it is vital that sufficient people come forward. If you would like to discover more about how the Club works and where help is needed, please drop into the bar at Flitwick Leisure Centre from 7:30pm on Wednesday 9 June for an informal chat.

Nominate your club captains and Squad Photographs

The club needs nominations for male and female Club Captains and all swimmers will be able to vote for them before the AGM. You can nominate yourself, or someone else (please make sure they agree!). All nominations MUST be with Catherine Abbott or Sue Warne (either verbally or via e-mail) by Wednesday 16 June.

Before the AGM starts at 7pm, we will be taking squad photographs so ALL SWIMMERS are asked to attend in club kit by 6:00pm so EVERYONE gets their photo taken. Please bring all Trophies and County/Regional medals won during the year! At the same time you will be able to vote for your club captains, the result of which will be announced at the AGM. We would like to encourage all swimmers not training that night to stay on for the AGM and hear the results of the vote. Soft drinks and biscuits will be available.

The Sunday evening training session will run as normal.
