Leighton Buzzard Open Meet – 17 June 2006
Flitwick Dolphins were represented by a number of their swimmers at
the Leighton Buzzard 'B' Open last weekend.
Thirty-six Personal Bests were achieved out of a total of fifty-five
entries.
Aran Chamberlain-Clark, 11, dominated the weekend
winning 4 Gold medals and 1 silver, exceeding all 5 of his Personal Bests, and
setting a new 100m Freestyle Club Record.
His team mate, Thomas Winder, was runner-up in the 100m/200m Freestyle,
taking the Silver medals in both, and he stormed to victory in the 200m
Individual Medley by six clear seconds, exceeding his Personal Best in all 3
events.
Simon
Liddle, aged 13, swam an impressive 200m Freestyle, finishing 2nd in the Age
Group as did he in the 100m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley, taking
Bronze medals for both. 14 year-old
Loren Chamberlain-Clark gained new Personal Bests in his 50m Butterfly and 100m
Freestyle, where he won a Bronze and Gold medal respectively.
The
girls had a successful weekend too, seeing 10 year-old Isabelle Martin win a
gold medal for the 50m Freestyle and Bronze in the 50m Butterfly and
corresponding Backstroke event, beating her Personal Best in all three.
Louise
Simmons performed outstandingly in the Girls 13/14 year-old 100m Backstroke
exceeding her Personal Best and setting a new record for the Club. She also secured 3rd place in the 200m Individual
Medley in a time of 2:51.99. Another
impressive swim was completed by Sam Tilbury in the girls 13/14 year age group,
which saw her scoop the silver medal for her 100m Freestyle.
Other
swimmers exceeding their Personal Bests included Kimberley Burrows, Sofia
Aatkar, Ashleigh Jones, Georgina Stewart and Nicole Tilbury.
