Speedo League Round 3 – Wombourne – December 2006
Flitwick Dolphins performed brilliantly on Saturday night in
the Final Round of this year’s Speedo League.
Seeded 4th, they finished in 3rd position to hopefully entitle them to
remain in Division 2 for next season.
Coach, Diane Brinkler, was delighted with the result and extended her
thanks to everyone involved with making this happen.
Michael Donohoe swam a tremendous
100m Individual Medley in the Men’s Open event gaining maximum points for 1st
place in a time of just 1:04.82.
The 9-11 year old Boys Freestyle
Relay Team comprising David Allen, Hayden Davies, Chris Murphy and Colin
Weighell, swam a superb race, again winning their event. Staying with Relay Teams, both boys and girls,
15 years and under stormed their races securing two more 1st places as did Aran
Chamberlain-Clark, Toby Willson, Carl Halford and Simon Weighell making up the
13 years and Under Freestyle team.
Georgina Halford, 11, represented
the Dolphins in the 50m Backstroke finishing 2nd in a time of 41 seconds, and
exceeded her Personal Best in doing so.
12 year old Charlotte Beck knocked another second off her personal
best claiming victory in the Ladies Open 100m freestyle.
New Personal Bests were also achieved during the course of
the evening by both Hannah Scotchford and Carl Halford for their 100m
Butterfly, Colin Weighell for his 50m corresponding event and Holly Barber for
her 50m Backstroke.
