Achieving Personal Best Times

Personal Best times (PBs) can be set at both competitions and time-trials.  They can be taken from relay events if the swimmer was first in the relay and the time was recorded electronically.

Regional and National Championships Qualifying Times can only be set at ASA licensed open meets, such as the County Championships, except for long distance events (400m and above) where they can be set at time-trials.

PBs are recorded for each swimmer on a database which is updated after each competition.  A hard copy is kept in the boxes on the Club desk each Wednesday night, however this is only updated every month or so.

It is a good idea if you keep a record of your own PBs.

If you know you have set a new PB, and it is not on the sheet, you need to show your card with the official time on it to me or leave a note in the book at the desk.  If it was set during a Club gala then tell me which gala and I will check the times again.
